Fredrick J. Fleischer, age 91 passed away at his home on Monday, November 18, 2019. He was born on May 9, 1928 the son of Edward J. and Nora M.E. (Miller) Fleischer. Fred graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School and on September 15, 1945 he married Betty Jean Ellsworth in Kentucky. Fred was a farmer, worked as a mechanic at G.M. for several years retiring in 1990, then worked as a Tax preparer for 60 years. Fred was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, The Rebecca’s, St. Johns Lions Club, served as a Lieutenant in the Civil Air Patrol and was a Boy Scout Leader of 8 years. Surviving are his wife, Betty Jean, children Michael J. (Linda) Fleischer of St. Johns, Sandra (David) Cleveland of St. Johns and Jeannie (Gordon) Shipley of St. Johns. 9 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren.
Also, he is survived by his sister, Ruth Gomez of Perry and brother Raymond G. (Karen) Fleischer of St. Johns. He was preceded in death by brother Carl H. Fleischer and sister Hazel Overmyer.
The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home on Friday, November 22, 2019, 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. at which time services will be held with David Cleveland officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery.
