Gaylord B. Craig died Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the age of 85. He was born December 12, 1932 in Gratiot County, MI the son of Vern and Reba (Underwood) Craig. Gaylord is an Army veteran serving during the Korean War and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge # 224 in Maple Rapids. During his working career Gaylord had several jobs. He worked for Sealed Power Corp. in St. Johns and the Lear Corp. in Elsie, but first and foremost he was a farmer. Surviving is a daughter, Holly (Ryan) Wheeler; a son, Dwight “Rocky” (Michelle) Craig; four grandchildren, Jeremy Craig, Nicole Hurt, Madison and Brianne Wheeler; several great grandchildren; a brother, Jim (Shirley) Craig and a sister, Carol Barton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; a son, Randy; three brothers, Gene, Jack and Clare and two sisters, Dorothy Ward Shook and Joyce VanSickle. Following Gaylord’s wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial, graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Union Home Cemetery on West Maple Rapids Rd. Memorials may be made to the Maple Rapids Odd Fellows Lodge #224, P.O. Box 267 Maple Rapids, MI 48853. The family was assisted with these arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.
