November 12, 1921 ~ June 16, 2018 (age 96)

Josefina Villarreal passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018 at the age of 96. She was born November 12, 1921 in Schumansville, Texas the daughter of Santana and Juanita (Espinoza) Gonzales. She lived most of her life in the St. Johns area. She was married to Jose Villarreal in Guadalupe County, TX, on October 25, 1941.  She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and a homemaker. She is survived by her loving family, Joe (Mary Ann) Villarreal, Frances (Ray) Cavasos, John (Kara) Villarreal, Jesse (Kay) Villarreal, Mary Helen (Bill) MacKorell, Gloria Santellan, Mary Ann Gillespie, Rose (Dave) Vallin, David Villarreal, Richard Villarreal, Carmen (Kevin) Thayer, Albert Villarreal and Carolyn (Dean) Karber and by her step-children, Eugene (Patti) Villarreal, Julian (Jo) Villarreal, Bertha Stoimenoff, Cosme (Maria Elena) Villarreal and Christina Rodriguez; 38 grandchildren; 53 great grandchildren; two sisters, Martha (Domingo) Villegas and Santos Rodriguez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jose; a daughter, Alice Green, one stepson, Don Villarreal, four sons-in-law, Rudy Rodriguez, Larry Stoimenoff, Joe Santellan and Allen Gillespie; two daughters-in-law, Lisa Villarreal and Senaida Villarreal, one sister, Eluteria Villarreal, four brothers, Alejos, Fidel, Rogelio and Domingo Gonzales. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Thursday, June 21, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church 109 Linden St., St. Johns with Rev. Fr. Rogelio Banuelos as Celebrant. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Rest Cemetery. The family will receive relatives and friends 6-8 PM on Tuesday, June 19 and 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 20 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns.  A Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 PM on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Memorials may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, Hazel I. Findlay Country Manor or St. Joseph Catholic Church.
