Linn J. Pontius, 77 of rural DeWitt went to be with his Lord and Savior at his home on Friday, April 6, 2018. The family will receive friends and relatives at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns on Tuesday, April 10, 2018. 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Lester DeGroot officiating. Burial will be at Wacousta Cemetery. Linn was born on June 7, 1940, one of seven children to Mark and Ruth (Pierce) Pontius and graduated from DeWitt High School. He married Gayle Martin on September 10, 1966 and she passed away in 2004. Linn worked at Sealed Power/MAHLE for several years and was a farmer. He loved country and gospel music, was a member of the Mint City Jammers and attended Nashville Baptist Church. He is survived by daughter, Jenny (Tom Tebo) Reeves of Portland, son, Martin (Elizabeth) Pontius of Holt, 4 grandchildren, Makayla (Brandon Varner) Reeves and Colton Reeves, Logan and Alita Pontius who referred to him as "Bumpy Road Grandpa" and has expecting a great grandson to be born soon. Special and significant love, Rita Domke of Ovid, brother-in-law and best friend, George Sargent of Grand Ledge. He was predeceased by siblings, Virgiline Zell, Durward Pontius, Kenneth Pontius, Gerald (Bud) Pontius, Donna Sargent and his twin sister, Linda Lyon.
