Margaret T. (Peg) Lehnen passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018, at the age of 87. She was born on June 21, 1931, in Birmingham, Michigan, to Dorritt E. Thompson and Timothy Thompson. Her brother, Carleton Thompson, was killed in Combat in July, 1944. She was an active member of the First Congregational Church of St. Johns. She was a graduate of Stephens College of Columbia Missouri, with a specialty in Interior Design and attended Michigan State College. She enjoyed working with design, color, fabrics and furniture, and used her talents while working at Mark Roberts Furniture in St. Johns and also for family and friends. On September 5, 1953, she married David Lehnen, and he survives her. She is also survived by three daughters, Susan (Bill) Dewar, Diane Lehnen, Barbara (Randy) Jacques; 11 Grandchildren, Sasha, Erika, Alex, David, Benjamin, Samuel, Paul, Anna, Jeff, Rachelle and Maggie; and 9 Great Grandchildren, Tyler, Ashtin, Myles, Julia, William, Adalae, Tucker, Max and Delilah. She was an active member of the Mint Country Garden Club and the Clinton County Arts Council. She loved gardening, birdlife, canoeing, camping, music, her church bell choir, and traveling with good friends and her husband. She enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader. She was a kind, compassionate person, with empathy for all she met and knew. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 16, at First Congregational Church, 100 Maple Street, St. Johns, Michigan, with Pastor Matt Olson officiating. The family will receive friends and family at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation of Michigan, 888 W. Big Beaver Rd, Suite 305, Troy MI 48084.
