Surrounded by his family, Thomas A. Fabus died peacefully Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the age of 75. He was born June 22, 1944 in St. Johns, MI to John and Lena (Sedlar) Fabus. Tom was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in DeWitt and a Vietnam era Army veteran. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards. He was an avid DeWitt Panther sports fan attending many high school sporting events. Tom also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and coffee group. He especially enjoyed being around his two granddaughters. Tom retired from General Motors Skilled Trades in 2003 with 42 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #652. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Audrey. He is also survived by his daughter, Angela and her husband, Scott Porter, of LaGrange, IL; son, Tom, of DeWitt; two granddaughters, Audra and Lila; two sisters, Marie (Jerry) Skaryd of Ashley, Karen (Richard) Maxa of St. Johns; one brother, Jerry (Janet) Fabus of Tennessee and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother John. A memorial visitation and celebration of Tom's life will be held 12:30 PM to 3:00 PM Saturday, October 26, 2019 at St. Jude Catholic Church 801 N. Bridge St. DeWitt. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Lung Association or the American Diabetes Association.
