Daesha Rae Tate died unexpectedly Friday, May 15, 2020 at the age of 22. She was born August 28, 1997 in Fremont, MI the daughter of Marcus Tate and Candy Hicks. Daesha was a 2016 graduate of St. Johns High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of the competitive cheerleading team. She was very artistic and loved art especially drawing. Surviving is her son, Davontae Rae Smith; her father, Marcus Tate; her mother and stepfather, Candy and Germaine Schaub; paternal grandparents, Mahdi and Phyllis Tate; step grandparents, Celestine and Joan Schaub and many aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Clifford and Candace Hicks and her beloved cat, Sophia. The family will receive relatives and friends noon to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, May 20, 2020 at Keck-Coleman Funeral Home, St. Johns. In following with the Governor’s executive orders, those that come for visitation will be required to have a face covering, keep their time inside as brief as possible and the number of people in the building will be monitored to keep within the limit of 10. A private funeral service will be held for Daesha.
