Donald V. Ott was born in St. Johns, Michigan on February 29, 1924, the son of Albert T. and Lillian M. (Eisler) Ott. He graduated from Rodney B. Wilson High School in 1942, and immediately entered military service with the United States Army during World War II. He was employed and retired from Sealed Power Corporation after 35 years and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Josetta, daughter Mary Catherine and brother, Robert. Donald and Josetta and were married for 52 years until her passing on October 29, 2001. Donald is survived by five children, Mark (Janet) Ott of Coldwater, Christina (Thomas) Woerdehoff of Bridgman, Daniel (Kathy) Ott of Stevensville, Jennifer Ott of St. Johns, and Albert (Pamela) Ott of Holt, as well as seven grandchildren: Laura Ott, Brian (Robin) Ott, Eric Ott, Sarah (John) Loftis, Jeffrey Ott, Heather (Shane) Moon and Emily Ott, and six great- grandchildren: Corbin and Henry Ott, Isabella and Olivia Loftis and Gunnar and Knox Moon. His true joy in life was being with his family especially the company of his grandchildren and great- grandchildren. He was a lifelong Detroit Tiger fan and followed them through good times and bad.
The family will celebrate Mass of Christian Burial on July 25, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church beginning at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Fr. Michael Williams officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Rest Cemetery.
