Wendell W. Workman died Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the age of 79. He was born July 3, 1940 in St. Johns the son of Arden and Lucretia (Steavens) Workman. Wendell served in the US Navy. In his youth he was active in the Boys Scouts. Wendell retired from the Kroger Company after 33 years of service. He then worked for a brief time at Federal Mogul Corp. then went to work at Katren Industries in St. Johns. On August 20, 1965 he married Janice Beechler and she survives him. Also surviving is one daughter, Suzanne Workman; one son, Jeffrey (Bette) Workman; three grandchildren, Sarah (Nathan) Pitchford, Courtney Workman and Victoria Workman; two great grandchildren, Alexandra and Nolan Pitchford; one sister, Janet Herblet; one brother, Carl Workman and a sister in law, Christine Cobb. He was preceded in death by brothers in law, Ronald Cobb and Tom Beechler. Following Wendell’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Memorials may be made to a charity of donor’s choice. The family wishes to thank the Sparrow Home Hospice team especially nurse Angela and all the wonderful team at Hospice House of Mid-Michigan for all the love and care that the family received.
